Initiated by its founding Chairman, Sophat MEAS, Cambodian Insurance Brokers Association (CIBA) was established in March 2022 through an election presided over by H.E BOU Chanphirou, Director General of Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC). CIBA was legally registered with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the General Department of Taxations in July 2022 and December 2022, respectively. There were 12 licensed insurance brokers members at the time of the establishment of CIBA. As of March 2023, CIBA has 15 licensed brokers members.

CIBA has a few main objectives including 1) to promote greater efficiency within the industry, for the establishment of a sound insurance broking structures in Cambodia and 2) to promote and represent the interests of its members 3) to make rules, regulations and by-laws in accordance with CIBA’s M&A and to be aligned with relevant rule and regulations, and laws imposed competent authorities.

CIBA is running by a Management Committee which consists of Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Management Committee members and supported by a secretariat. The 1st management committee members include.
